Our adorable mascot, Otty, was specially drawn by Marshall, 10y.o., (our son) and given the name by Ashley, 7y.o. (our daughter) for this remarkable cause and soon-to-be fantastic bookstore & cafe chain.

Here is the tale that Marshall and Ashley penned about Otty.

In the beginning, Otty was just an ordinary otter. One day, he encountered a detective by the river. There, he formed a friendship with the detective and evolved into the cutest otter-detective. Otty fought crime side by side with his detective companion.

One day, he happened upon a bookstore named "The Under Covers." Intrigued, he stopped at the door, wondering if he had enough time to buy a book and enjoy a quick coffee. Upon entering, while searching for the best mystery book, a peculiar man walked straight in. Otty glanced at him and immediately understood that the man was a thief. Otty observed as the thief pilfered all the juice boxes from the refrigerator. Soon enough, Otty decided it was time to put an end to this.

"Hey, stop right there!" Otty exclaimed.

The thief jumped in surprise and shouted, "Out of my way, stupid Otter!"

Otty wouldn't stand for it any longer. He gently placed the book on the shelf and showcased some karate moves.

The thief was subdued. Otty cuffed his hands and handed him over to the police.

Thanks to Otty, the bookstore was safe. For his bravery, Otty was awarded a lifetime of free coffee from the owners.

From that day forward, "The Under Covers" became Otty's favorite place and Otty became the owner's favorite otter.
